
APPLE COMPOTE
Original recipe from Marilyn Chiarello
3 cups of diced apples
approximately 2 TBS water
2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp ground cardamom (optional)
1 TBS maple syrup (optional)
1 cup of raisins (I didn’t have raisins so I used currants)
Mix all the ingredients in large bowl and then transfer to a saucepan.
Heat over medium heat until bubbling.
Then reduce to low heat, cover and cook about 10 minutes longer until done.
Serve warm.
I enjoy this apple compote mixed in with some oatmeal for breakfast.
