October 10, 2020 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

“Make-it-and-Take-it” Canning Workshops!
Limited enrollment. Pre-registration required.
Find out how easy canning food can be! This class makes an in-season product. All the ingredients, necessary equipment and jars are provided by the Edible Brattleboro. We use safe canning recipes during hands-on lessons. Each participant leaves with knowledge of the canning process and a jar of product. Learn how to can food, so you will be able to repeat the process at home in 2 hours.
Edible Brattleboro has an abundance of apples which we will be turning into apple pie filling. We are offering a “make-it-and-take-it” Apple Canning Workshop Oct 10th, 2020 from 1-3 pm at the Retreat Farm with Instructor Celeste Longacre.
This class is hands-on and has limited space. Participants MUST pre-register thru the link below.
The workshops are free (donations accepted with gratitude).
Celeste Longacre is the author of “Celeste’s Garden Delights” and an accomplished gardener who has been growing most of her family’s vegetables for over 35 years. Celeste preserves the garden’s bounty by canning, freezing, drying, and fermenting it as well as storing her produce in a root cellar. She and her husband, Bob, live sustainably in a handmade octagonal home. During the cold winter months, their heat is provided by the firewood that Bob cuts. Much of their electricity is generated with an array of solar panels. For further information visit her website at www.celestelongacre.com.
